Amber Beverage Group completes acquisition of Austrian importer Mountain Spirits

Amber Beverage Group has finalised its acquisition of alpine importer and distributor Mountain Spirits for an undisclosed sum.

“Mountain Spirits, a boutique and highly respected Austrian distribution company and wholesaler, will provide us with a powerful footprint in Central Europe and with the ability to reach into the strategically important Alps,” said Seymour Ferreira, CEO of Amber Beverage Group.

Markus Panzl, who will stay on in his role as managing director, said joining Amber “represents a very promising venture which will strengthen our portfolio and footprint in Austria and Europe overall.”

“The value of ABG rests with its dynamic team, their extraordinary expertise and their strong network across the world. We are happy to take now a part and participate in this extraordinary journey,” he said.

Amber has a portfolio of over 200 brands, and operates internationally from its head office in Luxembourg and through production and distribution companies in Russia, Mexico, the UK, Australia, Austria and the Baltics.

Mountain Spirits, which was formed in 2004, is based in the Tirol region of Austria and focuses its operations on outlets across the Alps.

Its portfolio includes gin brands Ophir and Greenall’s, Writers’ Tears whiskey, San Miguel lager, Disoronno, and Tia Maria.
