Amorim to launch stopper that stores botanicals

Cork producer Amorim has unveiled the latest additions to its Top Series range including the Spice Box, which has an acrylic lid in which producers can store spices and botanicals for consumers to mix into their drinks.

Amorim Top Series’ new Spice Box features a transparent acrylic swivel lid which can be used to store dried botanicals or spices.

The producer stated that the product was inspired by the trend of adding botanicals and spices as garnishes to gins.

“Spirits producers can sell their gins with a pre-selected spice, and the Spice Boxes can then be easily refilled, or alternated with different stoppers, each with its own different botanical or spice,” the brand said in a statement.

In addition, Amorim Top Series will unveil the M.A.C series (multi-assembled cpas) in 2019. Prospective clients can select the cork size and can customise the different elements of the top – the bottom section, ring, medal and upper part.

Next year will also witness the launch of Amorim Top Series’ 100% Natural Origin stoppers, inspired by “the need to cater to increasingly eco-aware consumers”.

Stressing cork’s sustainable, recyclable and renewable credentials, Amorim Top Series sourced the material for the top coating of the stopper from new bio-based polymers that are exclusively derived from renewable and/or biodegradable sources.

“To the best of the company’s knowledge there are no other capsulated cork stoppers available in the market that include bio-based polymer capsules produced from materials of a natural origin,” Amorim added.

Finally, the producer’s Talisman series now offers a series of materials, including polyester resin, metal, wood, cork, leather, porcelain and coconut (decorated through painting, enamel, laser and stamping).
