Here are the drinks actors will be served at the Emmy Awards 2018

As stars of the small screen gear up for the annual Emmy Awards later this month, a number of premium brands have declared partnerships with the event.

This year marks the 70th Annual Emmy’s Awards, which will take place on 17 September.

Much like the Oscars and the UK’s BAFTA awards, the star-studded event is particularly important for drinks giants hoping to put their premium brands in the spotlight.

We’ve listed the wineries, spirits companies and mixologists hoping to share the limelight with TV stars later this month.

The cocktails

The Diageo-owned premium vodka brand Ketel One will be used in a selection of cocktails for the event, which have been devised by Chigaco-born mixologist and entrepreneur Charles Joy.

Joy’s drinks card includes four botanical-themed vodka cocktails; the Enlightenment, flavoured with lime juice, green tea and honey syrup; the Labyrinth, which incorporates Ancho Reyes chile liqueur, agave nectar and carrot juice; the Radiance, which combines orange oils, rosé syrup and grapefruit liqueur; and the Restoration, a dairy-free take on the espresso martini which includes absinthe as well as a blend of almond and coconut milk.

A selection of spirits from the Diageo Reserve collection will be served alongside Joy’s drinks menu.

Joy founded his own of ready-to-drink label, Crafthouse Cocktails, in 2014.

The fizz

Italian sparkling wine brand Ferrari announced it would renew its partnership with the Emmy Awards for a fourth consecutive year.

Guests entering the Governors Ball will be treated to glasses of Ferrari Brut, and while at the party, they can get their hands on Ferrari Rosé, Ferrari Perlé 2012 and Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore 2005.

The fizz will also be on pour at both the Creative Arts Governors Ball events on 8 and 9 September. Here, the Italian producer will serve glasses of bubbles poolside at a villa in Beverly Hills, paired with food to drum up attention ahead of the big night.

The producer’s CEO, Matteo Lunelli, said: “We are proud to celebrate the Television Academy’s 70th Emmy Awards season and the tremendous artistic accomplishments of the television industry in the past year.”

The wine

As a Californian event, it’s only natural that the state’s wineries would represent. For the third consecutive year, Napa Valley winery Sterling Vineyards will be poured throughout the evening, from the ceremony itself through to dinner.

Guests at the Grosvenor Ball will be served the producer’s soon-to-launch Platinum Cabernet Sauvignon; while all Emmy winners will receive their own personalised bottle of the winery’s flagship Iridium Cabernet Sauvignon.
