New MBA course at Weincampus Neustadt open for applicants

Weincampus Neustadt has opened applications for its Wine MBA on Sustainability & Sales following the success of the inaugural course last year.

The academy in Germany’s Rhineland-Pfalz launched the course last year in order to, “offer an enriching programme dealing with managerial issues of utmost importance for entrepreneurs in competitive environments – that is management, sales, and sustainability – with a strong focus in the context of the wine industry.”

Having declared, “mission accomplished” for the first year, the course is now open once again.

The programme explores all aspects of management, sales and sustainability running a wine business from both strategic and operational perspectives using the latest state-of-the-art research and academic thinking.

Leading the course is Professor Marc Dressler, who recently published a paper on “strategic grouping in a fragmented market”, taking as its example a classic example of a small business industry with high fragmentation – the German wine industry.

Given the competitive nature of the global wine trade, a lot of emphasis is placed on strategic profiling and entrepreneurship.

As Weincampus Neustadt explain: “Students therefore learn and experience in the course of the programme the value of strategic profiling, differentiation, or more niche positioning.

“Indeed, the study illustrates the value of innovation, dynamic strategic adaption, and sustainability.

“Students of the MBA explore the importance of an alignment of innovation, strategy, and organization. In line with the finding of the study, striving for more ambitious goals than pure survival increases companies´ success rates – meaning our students are prepared.”
