Tom Aikens to relaunch Tom’s Kitchen in Chelsea

Flame-haired celebrity chef Tom Aikens is to relaunch his flagship Tom’s Kitchen restaurant in Chelsea in order to focus on seasonal British sharing plates.

The venue, which opened on Cale Street off the King’s Road back in 2006 as an all-day brasserie, has been given a modern makeover by B3 Designers.

Keen to shine a light on fresh British ingredients, the menu at the new look site will be a moveable feast that changes with the seasons, with ingredients sourced from local suppliers.

Among the sharing plates on the new menu are beef tartare with black garlic aioli; salt baked heritage carrots, strained yoghurt and carrot top pesto; and Spatchcock Norfolk quail with peanut sauce and pickled sweet cucumber relish.

“I’m incredibly proud of everything that we’ve achieved over the past 12 years at Chelsea.

“Moving forwards, the redesigned space and new menus will allow the restaurant to be more innovative, modern and comfortable, and I’m excited to welcome back loyal faces from over the years, as well as introducing new guests to all that Tom’s Kitchen has to offer,” the London-born chef said.

Spread over three floors in a Chelsea townhouse, the bar has been made a focal point of the restaurant for both counter dining and drinks, with a private dining room on the third floor.

The new look site will also feature photographs of some of Tom’s key suppliers to tell their stories and highlight his focus on ethically sourced ingredients.

In addition to his Tom’s Kitchen sites in London and Birmingham, Aikens also runs The Pawn in Hong Kong and Pots, Pans & Boards in Dubai.
