A total of 47 producers will be present at the New Zealand Pavilion in Hall 9, Stand E36, representing eight of New Zealand’s winegrowing regions.

In addition to more wineries attending, there will also be an increased educational programme with tastings to showcase the growing varietal and regional diversity of New Zealand wines, and a number of expert-led masterclasses.

Anne Krebiehl MW will host seminars on aromatic white wines, Pinot Noir and alternative New Zealand, looking at smaller plantings and emerging styles, while Jamie Goode will host sessions on Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and classic red styles such as Syrah and Merlot Cabernet blends.

In the Prowein Forum in Hall 10, Madeleine Stenwreth MW and Elaine Chukan Brown will conduct a comprehensive Pinot Noir tasting.

“New Zealand is one of the most popular countries exhibiting at Prowein,” said Chris Stroud, New Zealand Winegrowers marketing manager, Europe. “We are delighted to have an increased presence this year to enable us to show more New Zealand wines than ever before and increase our education programme.”

Held in Düsseldorf, Germany, Prowein is the world’s largest trade fair for the professional wine trade, with nearly 60,000 visitors from 131 countries who attended the 2017 event. This year’s event will take place from 18-20 March.
