Lanson Vintage Collection lands in Hong Kong

Champagne Lanson’s Vintage Collection of old and rare bottlings has gone on sale at Enoteca stores in Hong Kong.

Founded in Tokyo in 1988, with its first shop opening in Hiroo a year later, Enoteca’s first Hong Kong store opened in 2008 in the city’s Central district.

In 2009 two new Enoteca stores opened in Kowloon and Tsim Sha Tsui, taking its Hong Kong total to three.

The business has since expanded to Shanghai, Singapore and South Korea and now takes in seven Hong Kong stores where the emphasis is on “good value, great quality” wines.

Paul Beavis, Lanson’s UK and international managing director, said of the partnership: “Our Lanson Vintage Collection brings together vintage wines going back more than a century.

“Each year, a small number of bottles from 1976 and beyond are proposed to a restricted circle of customers, on a quest for oenological emotions.

“These wines are admired and coveted by connoisseurs throughout the world and we are thrilled that we can now include Hong Kong and Enoteca to this list.”

Wines in the Vintage Collection are handled as special orders, having been stored in the Lanson cellars in Reims.

Before being selected for the collection, the wines are tasted by the house’s chef de cave to ensure perfect quality.

Each bottle comes with its special pouch that includes a film by the winemaker detailing the characteristics of the vintage.
