Fever Tree appoints new innovation director from Diageo

Premium mixer company Fever-Tree has appointed Diageo’s innovation director to head up its new product development.

The premium mixer brand has appointed Alexandra O’Rourke as its new innovation director, who has spent the last ten years at Diageo working on brands including Budweiser, Gordon, Pimms and Jose Cuervo. Her most recent role at the global drinks giant, was innovation director, where she managed innovation across the brand’s whisky portfolio, developing new products for existing brands in the European market, as well as a pipeline of npd. Prior to joining Diageo, she spend six years at the Camelot Group, as brand marketing, innovation and strategy for the National Lottery.

O’Rourke, who has 19 years experience across FMCG & retail, will focus on developing new products for Fever-Tree and working with spirit brands on new initiatives. Her appointment follows the introduction of new innovations including the spiced orange and smokey ginger ales to boost the dark spirit mixer portfolio.

Tim Warrillow, CEO of Fever-Tree said he was delighted to welcome O’Rourke to company and the appointment reflected the company’s attitude to innovation over its twelve year history. “Alex’s creative attitude and proven track record in brand innovation, alongside her deep understanding of the FMCG sector is ideally suited to the Company as we continue to develop our exciting product pipeline,” he said.
