World’s 50 Best Restaurants 51-100 announced

The long list of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards has been announced with three London venues making it into the top 100.

The highest climber from London was modern British venue Lyle’s in Shoreditch, run by James Lowe and John Ogier, which moved up 11 places to 54 on the list.

Fergus Henderson’s nose-to-tail restaurant St. John in Clerkenwell came in at 91, while Hedone in Chiswick run by Swedish chef Mikael Jonsson dropped from 60 to 98.

The top 50 will be announced in Melbourne next week, with Massimo Bottura currently holding the top spot with his tiny Modena site Osteria Francescana.

Last year The Ledbury in Notting Hill flew the flag for London at number 14 on the list, with The Clove Club in Shoreditch nipping at its heals in 26^th place and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal at the Mandarin Oriental in Knightsbridge sliding to 45.
