Michael Fish forecasts free beer when it rains

Fuller’s London Pride has collaborated with former BBC weatherman, Michael Fish, in a social media campaign using the hashtag #whenitrainsitpours.

Running throughout February, the campaign allows Twitter users in London to claim a free pint when it rains. A live weather feed is shared on Twitter via Periscope and when rain appears, followers can tweet to claim their beer.

Commenting on the project, Michael Fish said, “This is such an inspired idea. February can often be one of the dreariest months of the year, with the short days and wet weather, so a free pint of London Pride will certainly brighten up peoples’ days”.

“I am excited to be part of this campaign, I’ve seen some very rare atmospheric phenomena, but even in all my years as a weatherman, I’ve never seen it rain beer.”

The campaign was the brainchild of The Corner, with media planning and buying assistance from UM London. Cue Gene Kelly’s Singin’ in the Rain.

This is not the first time Michael Fish has been involved in a promotional drinks campaign. In 2013, Diageo enlisted his services to promote its Talisker Storm release.
