Masterchef Vietnam judge in HK venture

Luke Nguyen, the man behind Sydney’s famed Red Lantern restaurant and judge of Masterchef Vietnam is set to open a contemporary Vietnamese restaurant in Hong Kong next month.

Judge, author and TV host Luke Nguyen has his eyes set on Hong Kong expansion as he partners up with ZS Hospitality Group to open Moi Moi by Luke Nguyen in November.

The young Australian-Vietnamese chef is also behind Sydney’s Fat Noodle and Red Lantern restaurants as well as opening his own cookery school, Grain in Ho Chi Minh.

Moi Moi will offer contemporary Vietnamese cuisine in the lobby of Central’s Nexxus Building on 41 Connaught Road with “international influences.”

Nguyen has written seven best-selling Asia-inspired cookbooks which include Secrets of the Red Lantern, Indochine, Luke Nguyen’s Greater Mekong and Street Food Asia.

He was inducted into the Food Hall of Fame for his cooking and travel programs televised in over 150 countries, including Luke Nguyen’s Vietnam, Luke Nguyen’s Greater Mekong, Luke Nguyen’s France and Luke Nguyen’s UK.

Nguyen is also the host of Masterchef Vietnam series 1 and 2 and designs the menus for Etihad Airways.
