Entries open for André Simon Awards

Entries for the André Simon Food & Drink Book Awards 2016 are now open.

Celebrating the best of current food and drink writing, the entry time for submissions will last until 18 November this year.

The first round of judging and the process of whittling the shortlist down to around 12 books will occur in December and the winner then announced early next year.

Judging the drink books this year will be Fiona Beckett, columnist for the Guardian who has published 23 books on food and wine.

Food writer and historian Bee Wilson, who was shortlisted last year and won a special commendation, will judge the food books.

In addition, the chairman and trustees of the André Simon Memorial Fund have welcomed Xanthe Clay, president of The Guild of Food Writers, to the board of trustees. She joins chairman Nicholas Lander, Sarah Jane Evans MW and David Gleave MW while Julian Cotterell, Michael Schneidman and Tessa Hayward step down from the committee.

Publishers are encouraged to submit books. For more details click here.
