Bonhams appoints US specialist

Auction house Bonhams has appointed Erin McGrath as its new fine wine specialist in the US.

She will be based in San Francisco where the house holds four sales every year each March, May, September and November.

McGrath will be responsible for all aspects of these fine wine sales on the west coast including consigning wine for sale and advising buyers and sellers.

Bonhams’ global head of wine, Richard Harvey MW, said: “We are delighted to welcome Erin to Bonhams. Her knowledge and enthusiasm will be a great asset to the company as we continue to grow our business in the United States.”

McGrath commented, “I am very pleased to be joining the wine department at such an exciting time. Bonhams wine sales have established a high reputation among collectors both in America and overseas and my ambition is to build on that success.”
