Kavaklidere Wines, the number one Turkish wine producer based in Anatolia, wants to raise the profile of its premium range of wines in the UK.

The campaign will focus on introducing the wines to a range of key trade influencers, including independents, sommeliers and wine press.

Cevza Basman, board member at Kavaklidere Wines, said its promotional push in the UK comes off the back of increased sales for Turkish wine in the market.

“We have noticed an increasing interest in Turkish wines in the UK, and feel that the time is right for us to invest in this important market”, Basman said.

“Our premium wines have already gained over 900 awards at international competitions over the past few years, but now we want to capitalise upon this very positive feedback, and translate the enthusiasm for our wines into sales.

“Our strategy will be to target key trade influencers in the UK market, invite them to come and visit us, and show them the passion we have for wine and the range of fine wines that we produce. I am confident that the reaction will be very positive,”

Kavaklidere Wines has worked to introduce indigenous Turkish grape varieties to the world. It also produces wines from international grape varieties, mainly for the domestic market.

Anne Burchett, managing director at Sopexa UK, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed to represent Kavaklidere Wines in the UK, which adds to our increasing portfolio of international clients.”
