Craggy Range aims for ‘next level’ in UK

New Zealand’s Craggy Range has joined Bibendum PLB’s portfolio with the aim of taking its brand “to the next level” in the UK, leaving its previous distributor Louis Latour Agencies.

Craggy Range will be available through Bibendum PLB from 1 April

Owned by the Peabody family, Craggy Range was established in 1997 and produces single vineyard wines from the Gimblett Gravels region in Hawke’s Bay, and from vineyards in Martinborough further south.

“Our move to Bibendum PLB Group reflects our desire to extend Craggy Range’s reach”, said Warren Adamson, global sales director at Craggy Range. “Bibendum PLB Group has the scale to take Craggy Range to the next level in the important UK market. Louis Latour Agencies got us to where we are today and now it’s time to grow again with this move. We wish Latour all the best and look forward to our new relationship with Bibendum PLB Group.”

Bibendum PLB’s plan to strengthen the brand’s on-trade and independent presence through its Te Muna Road Pinot Noir and Te Muna Sauvignon Blanc, Kidnappers Chardonnay and Gimblett Gravels Vineyard Te Kahu.

“Craggy Range is a well-known and iconic name in New Zealand wine and rightfully so”, said Matt Smith, New Zealand buyer for the Bibendum PLB Group. “They are bringing some fantastic wines to the portfolio from Gimblett Gravels and Martinborough which will sit brilliantly alongside our existing New Zealand producers.”

Craggy Range wines will be available to the UK on-trade via Bibendum PLB’s Walker & Wodehouse arm, and to multiple retailers via its PLB branch from 1 April.
