Chivas ‘the Icon’ launches in Hong Kong

Chivas’ new ultra-premium whisky the Icon has debuted in Hong Kong, coinciding with the 2016 Chivas Masters competition.

Colin Scott introduces the Icon to the Asia market

Taking over Foxglove for four days, Chivas Regal launched its newest addition the Icon with master blender, Colin Scott hosting a blending session for trade and consumers.

Described by Scott as“the embodiment of craftsmanship and tradition,” the Icon has been released as 1,500 bottles worldwide with 10 available to the Asia market and is a blend of more than 20 whiskies from several distilleries, including Longmorn in Moray, Glen Keith in Speyside and Strathisla in the Highlands.

It is available for HK$28,800 through private order and limited quantities are also sold at DFS in Hong Kong’s airport.

Scott commented: “The Icon is a truly exquisite blend – perfectly smooth with an intense concentration of sumptuous flavours that develop into an exceptionally long, lingering finish. I am proud to present this luxurious expression of the Chivas Regal house style in Hong Kong, offering our guests a unique immersive glimpse into the world of Chivas Regal.”

The 2016 Chivas Masters also took place with seven Hong Kong bartenders mixing cocktails using Chivas Regal 12 in a bid to compete in the finals in Shanghai in June of next year.

Dave Lam from Quinary won with his three cocktails, The Amber Appointment, Yuan Yang and The Chivas Brothers with the judge-pleasing Yuan Yang now available at Quinary.
