Real Housewives star to launch vodka

Star of the Real Housewives of New York City, Luann de Lesseps, has revealed she is to launch her own range of flavoured vodkas.

Called The Countess Collection, the range will include all natural flavourings and will coincide with the launch of Lesseps’s Pour it Forward programme, which will see US$2 from each bottle donated to a local charity, as reported by E! Online.

She follows in the footsteps of former co-star Bethenny Frankel, founder of Skinnygirl wine and Skinnygirl cocktails.

Frankel launched the low-calorie brand in 2011. It was soon after sold to Beam for a reported US$8.1 million in March 2011, expanding into the US wine market in 2012.

More recently Frankel was rumoured to be launching a “Skinnygirl Marijuana” onto the market after she was snapped leaving the Green Dragon cannabis dispensary in Aspen late last year. She was reported to be keen to capitalise on the legalisation of the drug in certain states.

Lesseps’ Countess Collection of infused vodkas, named after her already established jewellery line, will be released in the US this summer.
