Lanson offers ‘timeless’ gift idea

Champagne Lanson is tempting travellers through Zurich Airport with a collection of upmarket gift sets.

“The Traveler Showcase” is a Lanson-branded version of a Samsonite suitcase, containing a bottle of Extra Age cuvée and two Champagne glasses. It is guaranteed to protect the Champagne and can be reused as a travel bag.

Lanson’s Extra Age cuvée, which was created to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the House of Lanson, involves an extended maturation period of at least five years on the lees. Playing on this idea of longevity, the “Timeless Gift Box” has space to store six watches once the three bottles of Extra Age cuvée have been removed.

Olivier de la Giraudière, export director for Champagne Lanson, said: “This is an extraordinary promotion we are running and we expect a high visibility of these top premium gifts. This is a unique gifting opportunity for the Christmas and New Year festivities.”

This is only the most recent attempt to make traveling with alcohol easier with the VinGardeValise, launched earlier this year, able to carry a dozen 750ml bottles of wine.

The Lanson sets are available in Zurich Airport until 29 December.
