Pepper, who became a Master of Wine in 2013, will take up the position in February leaving Buckingham Schenk which he joined as marketing manager in 2006, rising through its ranks to become managing director in 2010.

Troy Christensen, Enotria CEO, said: “Jon is a great addition to the Enotria Leadership Team and his appointment will bring increased drive and vision to our operation. He is the ideal person to take up the mantle and consolidate the premium positioning of our portfolio, and the wider business. I have no doubt that with his experience and insight he is well placed to balance the complexities of trading in the UK, with a deep understanding of wine, from grape to glass. He has a strong track record of developing, launching and marketing premium brands, strong commercial skills and an excellent network of contacts across the UK wine trade.”

Christensen said moving forward the objective of Enotria was to continue to build its portfolio by working with producers who are “innovators and pioneers” and to lead the conversation on wine in the UK.

On his appointment, Pepper said: “Enotria has great wine credentials and a fantastic portfolio already, and I’m looking forward to building on this to ensure that the business develops its position as a true leader of the wine trade, remaining relevant and competitive while driving multichannel growth through a premium range that is the very best in the industry.”
