Domaine de Chevilly Quincy 2011

This wine is recommended by the team at Singaporean wine website Thelocalnose.com. Chee Wee Lee wrote: “Slightly reductive and pungent with underlying tropical fruit notes. Lots of fruit vibrancy on the palate with nice acid lift, focused guava and gooseberry flavours.”

And Ed Soon added: “Pungent lime leaf and honey aromas that are quite intense. Really vibrant on the palate with a good balance of grapefruit, fresh herbs and crushed lime and lemon zest. It finishes long. Quite nice.”

Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque 2004

This Champagne is another recommendation from The Local Nose, with Chek Wong writing: “Elegant and lively with honeysuckle, biscuit and floral notes. Medium+ length. The blend is 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier.”

Blue Pyrenees Midnight Cuvée

The Wine Times of Hong Kong recommended this wine, writing: “Blue Pyrenees Midnight Cuvée is made up from the best Chardonnay grapes that grow in the vineyards according to [chief winemaker Andrew] Koerner; from cool, elevated areas very well suited to the growing of grapes that go into the production of sparkling wine.

The website added: “Describing the wine Mr. Koerner noted that; ‘it is a more elegant, medium bodied wine that should pair well with various spicy foods of some of China’s regions’.

2002 Louis Jadot – Corton Grand cru les Pougets

This wine was recommended by Jeannie Cho Lee MW, on asianpalate.com, she wrote: “Beautifully mature Corton with freshness, density and nice depth of flavours. The wine is fleshy, with generous earth, cherry and blackberry flavours. Balanced and at its peak, enjoy this wine now or keep it in your cellar. The wine should age easily for another 8-10 years.”

2002 Domaine des Comtes Lafon – Meursault Clos de la Barre

Cho Lee also picked out this wine, writing: “A beautiful Meursault just reaching its youthful peak. There is no sign of premature oxidation here and the flavours are subtle, layered and delicately delivered. Hints of hazelnuts, butter and vanilla – all very subtle and elegant. This wine should keep well for another 4-6 years.”

Turley Wine Cellars Grist Vineyard Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley, 2001

Winebuzz.hk recommended this wine in a feature about Californian Zinfandel, it described the grape as a, “full-bodied red wine is usually quite high in alcohol, sometimes reaching over 15%, and has jammy, berry characteristics (especially raspberry) as well as a bit of spice and pepper. It usually works well paired with spicy dishes.”

In describing this wine Winebuzz added: “A bit of a legend in Californian Zin, this needs some time in the decanter to open up.”

Elderton Command Shiraz, 2008

Winebuzz also recommended this Australian wine, writing of the grape: “Shiraz is the most widely planted grape in all of the wine regions in Australia, and Barossa in particular is thought to have some of the best. A powerful and fruity wine, a good Shiraz is normally aged for a while in American oak and has black fruit flavours and an explosive and spicy mouth with key notes of black pepper, chocolate and coffee.”

In describing this wine Winebuzz added: “One of the most highly regarded Shiraz’s in Australia, this is definitely for a special occasion. 93 points with Robert Parker.”

Bodegas Carchelo Vendre V Crianza DO 2007

This wine was recommended by Winekorea.asia, who wrote: “Spicy aromas with well interlaced fruit. Concentration and finesse with power and elegance. A blend of Monastrell, Temperanillo and Syrah from Jumilla.”

Domaine Magellan – Magellan Rouge 2007

Winekorea.asia also recommended this wine, writing: “Well made and structured Grenache, Syrah and Carignan blend. Initially dense but it opens with fantastic linear structure. Made from 60 year old Carignan vines and aged in burgundian barrels.”

Oakridge Wines, Chardonnay – Local Vineyard 2012

And finally this wine was picked out by Singapore wine writer, Wai Xin, who wrote on his website winexin.sg: “Part of the Local Vineyard series of wines, this Chardonnay from Barkala Ridge vineyard had been highly acclaimed by James Halliday and the Yarra Valley Wine Show. Lemon peels, hint of stone like mineral with an uplifting zest of citrus acid.”
