IWSC launches new spirits venture

The IWSC Group has relaunched the Spirits of Mexico brand, which it acquired last year.

Founded by Dori Bryant in 2005, the US-based agave spirit event firm’s calender highlight is the Spirits of Mexico San Diego tasting festival, with a further important Tequila dinner and auction held in New York. Under its new ownership, the brand is set to launch further events across the US this year.

Held annually in September to coincide with Mexican Independence Day, Spirit of Mexico San Diego brings together more than 80 Tequila brands, as well as distillers, blenders and mixologists to share their expertise with over 2,500 consumers.

Since being bought by the IWSC Group in 2011, the brand has received a new logo and website to back up the increased investment offered by this new ownership.Outlining development plans for the company, IWSC Group sales & marketing controller, David Kelly, explained: “Launching a new logo and website demonstrates the IWSC Group’s commitment to the future development of the Spirits of Mexico brand and the agave spirit industry.”

Meanwhile Bryant, who has taken on the role of IWSC Group events director, commented: “I’m absolutely delighted that we have been able to re-launch such a popular brand. The growth in both consumer interest and brand participation has exceeded our expectations and we’re all looking forward to growing the events across the US”.
