Pernod Ricard confirms formation of wine umbrella

Pernod Ricard has confirmed that its key international wine properties will be grouped and managed under one business following a strategic review.

The Sydney-based business will be known as Premium Wine Brands, the company said today.

The creation of Premium Wine Brands brings together the group’s international wine businesses and key premium wine brands including Jacob’s Creek, Brancott Estate(formerly Montana), Campo Viejo and Graffigna under one umbrella, alongside other key brands including
Stoneleigh, Wyndham Estate and Etchart.
 
Premium Wine Brands, which was first announced by Pernod Ricard in July this year, will be responsible for the global brand and portfolio strategies, as well as technical coordination, including production, viticulture and supply chain.  
 
Chairman and chief executive of Premium Wine Brands, Jean-Christophe Coutures, said: “By bringing together our leading global wine brands we have created an enviable international wine portfolio.

"The creation of Premium Wine Brands not only allows us to offer a world class range of well known brands but also share best practice learning’s that allows us to play to our strengths, whilst exploring and developing new opportunities.”
 
Coutures continued: ”We now have a complimentary portfolio of premium wine brands representing the signature varieties for each country – Australian Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, Malbec from Argentina and Tempranillo from Spain delivered through our leading brands, Jacob’s Creek, Brancott Estate, Graffigna and Campo Viejo.
 
Premium Wine Brands will work hand in hand the Pernod Ricard distributor network globally to increase its global reach and market penetration though innovation, the development of global strategies and consumer focussed marketing campaigns.
