Jacobs Creek serves up ace Wimbledon deal

Jacob’s Creek has signed a five-year contract to be the official wine of the Wimbledon tennis championships.

The agreement between the brand and The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) was struck earlier this week.

From 2011 to 2015 Jacob’s Creek will be the pouring wine at the annual tournament, which has a worldwide audience of 594 million people in 187 countries.

Jo Adamo, global marketing director for Jacob’s Creek, said: “Wimbledon is an international icon and offers great exposure in all of our key markets.

“It captures the imagination of millions and as such provides a wonderful opportunity to align Jacob’s Creek with the hearts and minds of spectators around the world.

“We are excited and pleased to be the official wine of Wimbledon, which will especially focus on our Reserve portfolio.”

Mick Desmond, commercial director of the AELTC, added: “Given our global reach it makes sense to partner with a brand that could also deliver a global footprint as well as a reputable stable of quality wines.”
