Follador Prosecco looks to lead the way in the UK

Follador Prosecco has entered the UK market, seeking to capitalise on the continued success of the category in Britain.

Based in Mayfair, the company opened its new office in London earlier this month. It hopes to win listings for its sparkling and still wines in the on-trade and independent retail sectors.

Cristina Follador, sales and marketing manager, said: “The time is right for us to enter the UK market. The consumer has embraced Prosecco, as illustrated in the growth of the category over the last 18 months.

“However, this is really down to a generic awareness. As yet, Prosecco brands don’t share the resonance of their Champagne counterparts, giving an excellent opportunity for a top quality winery like Follador to lead the way.”

Follador was founded in 1769 and remains family-owned and run. The brand is currently appointing distributors to work on its behalf.
