Marylebone chic at HUNter 486

Newly opened Marble Arch hotel, The Arch London, has unveiled its groundfloor bar and restaurant, HUNter 486.

Named after the 1950s dialling code for Marylebone (although it’s not clear whether this excuse extends to the seemingly spurious capitals), the venue is positioning itself as a boutique bolt hole for West End shoppers and Marylebone locals.

The middle of the room holds the Cocktail Bar, flanked on either side by the Salon de Champagne and the open plan restaurant area, Kitchen at HUNter 486. You can also settle down in The Martini Library’s armchairs for afternoon tea – or of course, if you need something stronger, a Martini.

The Cocktail Bar features two cosy banquettes which can be booked for small groups, while the Salon de Champagne has room for up to 22 thirsty shopoholics to rest their feet and admire the Veuve Clicquot graffiti ceiling. A further 20 guests can be accommodated in the Kitchen, which features both refectory style and individual tables.

The menu ticks all the in-vogue boxes of unpretentious, hearty dishes using seasonal produce. Head chef Shane Pearson has previously honed his skills at Bar Bourse and The Electric Brasserie, while restaurant manager Alistair Burgess is the former head bartender at Pégu Club in New York.
