Adami, Agostinetto, Astoria, Bellenda, Bellussi, Bepin De Eto, Bortolin F.lli, Bortolomiol, Bortolotti, Canella, Cantina Produttori Valdobbiadene, Cantine Maschio, Carpene’ Malvolti, Col Vetoraz, Conte Collalto, Drusian Francesco, Fasol Menin, La Marca, La Tordera, Le Colture, Malibràn, Masottina, Mionetto, Perlage, Ruggeri, Serre, Sorelle Bronca, Toffoli, Valdo, Villa Sandi, Vinicola Serena, and Zardetto.

A Prosecco DOC masterclass and guided tasting will be lead by Peter McCombie MW along with Wine Intelligence, who will reveal the findings of their recent research “Prosecco DOC in the UK market” from10.30am – 11.30 am. Peter will speak about the different styles of Prosecco and why Prosecco DOC signifies a higher quality Prosecco, offering traditional and modern serving suggestions and guiding the audience through a selection of his top Prosecco picks. Wine Intelligence will discuss UK awareness levels of Prosecco, consumer profiles of existing and potential Prosecco drinkers, the most likely on- and off-trade outlets for Prosecco sales, and recommendations for how to market Prosecco to UK consumers and increase consumer pull-through and purchasing occasions.

The President of the Prosecco DOC Consortium Franco Adami comments: “Prosecco DOC is experiencing a steady growth in sales with a total value of 330 million Euros, and 40,200,000 bottles of 2006 sparkling Prosecco DOC sold to date (11,500,000 to export markets). In order to continue and increase this momentum we feel that it is the right time to come to the UK market and show over 30 of our top producers.. The walk-around tasting will be an opportunity for on- and off- trade buyers to discover the Proseccos that are currently available through their preferred UK agents and wholesalers, and for agents to find new Proseccos to add to their portfolios as demand increases in the UK for excellent value premium quality sparkling wine.”

He continues, “We recognise that education is the key factor to increasing the understanding and acceptance of Prosecco DOC, and who better than Peter McCombie MW, Italian wine expert and respected wine writer, educator, and consultant, to teach the press and buyers about the versatility, value, and quality of our products? The masterclass will provide them with a far more in-depth understanding of the different styles that we offer and the many ways that Prosecco DOC can become an integral part of the UK gastronomic and wine drinking culture.”

“We also want to support our existing UK customers, which is why we have invested in bespoke research by industry leader Wine Intelligence. By revealing exactly who our existing and potential consumer audiences are and how best to market to them we can directly support our customers and help them increase their Prosecco DOC sales.”
