Orbital names new MD

Michael Paul has taken over the role of managing director at high flying wine company Orbital, where he will oversee brands such as Stormhoek and Camden Park. With over 25 years in the trade his CV includes roles with Western wines, Southcorp, Wine Intelligence and South Africa and Australia’s generic bodies.

Orbital was founded eight years ago and has rapidly built a reputation for being one of the industry’s most creative and forward-thinking companies. Commenting on the new arrival, CEO Jason Korman said: “I have a clear vision for the future of Orbital Wines. We want to overlay our strong marketing and innovative ability with a clear commercial strategy and Mike’s record of success and leadership will be integral in taking Orbital to the next level.”

Paul has spent the last six months as chairman of Wine Intelligence and www.lovethatwine.co.uk. He explains, “I’ve watched with great interest how Orbital has developed over the last three years, redefining how wine is being sold and communicated to retailers and consumers. I wasn’t looking to move, but this is such an exciting and challenging opportunity to work with great innovators.”
