London bars expand abroad

THE LONDON-BASED Match Bar Group has opened an outpost on the French Riviera in partnership with the discreetly decadent Le Beauvallon Hotel.   Match owner Jonathan Downey has been asked to replicate the cocktail craft of his members club, Milk and Honey, at an exclusive beach bar which is part of the hotel and eight minutes from St Tropez by boat.

Downey is in the process of installing a sound system and creating a more "loungey" feel to the bar, while his cocktail crew train the local staff in how to mix the creations on a tailormade cocktail list.

 "We are very lucky to have got this opportunity to run a bar in such a beautiful location," said Downey. "It’s got fantastic potential."  Meanwhile, fellow London bar owner Oliver Peyton, has revealed a new project in Casablanca, called Villa Zevaco.
