ProWine Mumbai brings together an unmatched mix of Indian and international wine and spirits producers, importers, distributors, country pavilions, trade promotion bodies, and allied beverage businesses.

Jointly organised by Messe Düsseldorf India and All Things Nice, ProWine Mumbai is set to strengthen its position as the definitive business platform connecting global producers with India’s rapidly evolving beverage market.

Bringing together industry leaders, importers, distributors, HORECA professionals, and premium consumers, the 2025 edition hosted more than 200 exhibitors, welcomed over 6,000 attendees, and saw participation from more than 20 countries, showcasing over 1,000 labels from across the globe.

Strong international representation

This year, while the final exhibitor roster continues to evolve, attendees can expect participation from leading global wine regions alongside premium Indian producers, craft beverage companies, spirits brands, and suppliers across packaging, technology, logistics, glassware, and accessories.

The event has historically featured strong international representation through country pavilions from markets including France, Italy, Australia, Japan, Ireland, Germany, the UK, the US and others.

A place to gain insight

Speaking to the drinks business about what makes the show a must-visit event, ProWine Mumbai project director Rajeev Naresh said: “For wine and spirits professionals, ProWine Mumbai is more than a trade exhibition—it’s a business platform. It offers opportunities to discover new products, meet producers and importers face-to-face, identify distribution partners, understand emerging consumer trends, attend expert-led masterclasses, and gain insights into India’s rapidly evolving beverage market.”

Naresh explained that “the combination of high-quality networking and curated educational content makes it an essential event for anyone looking to grow their business in the sector”.

Mumbai is India’s commercial and financial capital and the country’s most influential market for premium wines and spirits. It is home to many of India’s leading importers, distributors, hospitality groups, retailers, and beverage decision-makers, making it the ideal location for meaningful business conversations.

Conveniently located

Giving more explanation about the event’s location, Naresh told db that “its proximity to Nashik, India’s largest wine-producing region, excellent international connectivity, access to the country’s busiest beverage import gateway, and world-class exhibition infrastructure further strengthen its position as the natural home for ProWine Mumbai”.

Additionally, Naresh explained that “what differentiates ProWine Mumbai is its ability to combine business with education and innovation. Beyond the exhibition floor, visitors can experience curated masterclasses, tastings at the booths, panel discussions, bartender competitions and the newly introduced ProWine Zero segment, reflecting growing consumer interest in premium spirits and low- and no-alcohol beverages. These features ensure attendees leave with both valuable commercial connections and a deeper understanding of emerging market trends”.

Looking at what is achievable, he pointed out that “the overarching goal of ProWine Mumbai is to strengthen its position as India’s definitive international business platform for the wine and spirits industry while facilitating meaningful trade opportunities between domestic and global stakeholders”.

Unmissable business potential for the drinks sector

Indeed, Naresh also noted that “success is measured not only by growth in exhibitor and visitor numbers, but also by the quality of business generated, international participation, buyer engagement, educational programming, and the long-term partnerships formed through the event.”

He insisted: “One of the strongest indicators of the show’s impact is the growing number of success stories that have emerged from previous editions. Several international wine and spirits producers that first showcased their portfolios at ProWine Mumbai have since secured import and distribution partnerships and successfully entered the Indian market.”

A launchpad for brands to crack the Indian market

Naresh described how “these outcomes demonstrate the event’s role as more than just a trade fair—it is a launchpad for brands seeking to establish a presence in one of the world’s most dynamic and promising beverage markets.”

Considering its format, Naresh reiterated that the success of each show “is also evaluated through metrics such as the number of participating countries, country pavilions, trade professionals attending, business meetings facilitated, and the expansion of emerging beverage categories represented on the show floor”

Naresh reinforced that the event was not just important, but provided a “gateway” for drinks business owners to successfully establish themselves in India and added that “combined with the increasing number of brands using the platform to successfully enter India, the continued growth in exhibitor participation and international representation reinforces ProWine Mumbai’s position as the preferred gateway for global wine and spirits companies looking to build long-term business in the Indian market”.
