More than 150 wines from Ribera del Duero will be poured in London this November as part of the 2025 Selections with Tim Atkin MW. Now in its sixth year, the event will be hosted at Carlton House Terrace, London.

Ribera del Duero DO will once again host its annual trade tasting in the elegant setting of Carlton House Terrace in London on Thursday, 13 November 2025. According to the Consejo Regulador de Ribera del Duero, the event will coincide with World Tempranillo Day, a fitting tribute to the region’s flagship grape variety.

This year’s Selections tasting, curated in partnership with Tim Atkin MW, will feature more than 150 wines from some of Ribera del Duero’s most acclaimed producers alongside new discoveries seeking UK representation. Trade professionals will have the opportunity to explore the Top 100 as selected by Tim Atkin MW, as well as Ribera del Duero on a Budget and Unrepresented Wines, with winemakers on hand to present their portfolios in person.

A must-attend for the trade

Since its debut in 2019, the annual Ribera del Duero tasting has become a fixture in the wine trade calendar, attracting sommeliers, independent retailers, agents and journalists. Doors will open at 12pm, with a briefing at 3pm led by Tim Atkin MW and Pablo Baquera, marketing director of the Consejo Regulador.

The session will provide a concise update on key developments across the denomination, including recent vintages, stylistic shifts and regional trends.

The Top 100

Each September, Atkin spends two weeks in Ribera del Duero tasting around 600 wines from across the appellation. As per the Consejo Regulador, his final Top 100 selection reflects the full breadth of the region’s winemaking, from powerful, classically structured reds to bright, fruit-driven expressions from a new generation of producers.

Attendees will have the chance to sample this year’s Top 100 in person and gain insight into Atkin’s latest report, which will be published on 13 November at riberadelduero.es/uk. The 2025/26 edition will include tasting notes and scores and form part of the Tim Atkin MW Ribera del Duero Report, regarded as a definitive guide to the region.

Opening the doors to consumers

Following strong attendance in 2024, the tasting will once again open to consumers from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. The evening session aims to offer an immersive experience for enthusiasts keen to deepen their understanding of one of Spain’s most exciting wine regions.

Trade registration for the event is available at riberadelduero2025.eventbrite.co.uk.

A region redefining its image

As reported by the drinks business in December 2024, Tim Atkin MW has described Ribera del Duero as entering the most exciting phase of its development. He has long championed the region’s growing stylistic diversity, observing a shift toward fresher, more terroir-driven wines and a renewed focus on sustainability in response to the challenges of climate change.

In February 2025, Ribera del Duero joined the Wine Origins Alliance as its 34th member, reinforcing its commitment to protecting regional identity and origin. According to Miguel Sanz Cabrejas, director general of the Consejo Regulador, “Our vineyards produce wine that exemplifies the importance of place. We are proud to join the Alliance and celebrate this heritage with wine lovers around the world.”

A bright future

With this year’s Selections tasting set to be its most ambitious yet, the London event offers a rare opportunity to explore a region that, as Atkin himself puts it, is in the most exciting phase of its development.
