Disney to open Pirates of the Caribbean bar in the Magic Kingdom
The Magic Kingdom in Disneyworld Orlando will see the opening of a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed pub named The Beak and Barrel this month.

The much-anticipated attraction, which is set to open on 29 August, is seeing an influx of Disney fans booking Magic Kingdom reservations for the “rambunctious watering hole”.
First announced back in 2024, The Beak and Barrel has been positioned as a haven for all pirates, bandits and buccaneers to “raise a toast to the pirate life”.
Beyond those dates, Disney has now also announced the new venue’s Beak and Barrel drinks menu which will offer non-alcoholic options such as The Treasure Trove and The Cursed Treasure, alongside cocktails like the Salty Seas mARRRgarita, the Siren’s Whisper, the Barrels Ablaze, and the Hibiscus Rum Punch Royale.
Historically, Disney has had a no-alcohol policy at the Magic Kingdom, but it removed the ban in 2012 for the opening of its themed French restaurant ‘Be Our Guest’.
Guests to the new Beak and Barrel attraction will be able to enjoy drinks in what Disney has described as “a highly-themed, pirate atmosphere” which features two major rooms — The Mess and The Captain’s Quarters.

The Mess, which is a large central space themed as a former mess hall, features long tables that span the room, “allowing for pirates to gather ‘round and tell their own tales, while an anchor covered in candles and dripping wax hangs above.
The Mess will showcase a large bar on one side of the room made from salvaged portions of a shipwreck. At its centre, the skull-shaped stern will also hold a “collection of grogs and brew” and, according to Disney, “guests may also spot the Enchanted Rum Bottle, which was gifted to Merry by the enchantress Tia Dalma and seemingly serves as the source of the tavern’s specialty brews, or Rummy hobbling along the bar’s ledge, greeting the patrons and keeping a close eye on the crew while Merry is away”.
The Captain’s Quarters has been themed as the former living space of a Spanish comandante and will include “fine artwork and drapery” on the walls, much of which “hasn’t escaped slashing blades or burn marks over the years by rambunctious pirates”.
Added to this, a group of five ships in a bottle sitting on the mantlepiece mounted above the fireplace that are “rumoured to represent pirates from every corner of the world banding together to defeat tyranny”.
According to Disney, guests to the new inn should also “keep a weathered eye out as these mysterious bottles have been known to come alive and engage in a fearsome battle”.
