What to expect at the new Siren Craft Brew taproom and restaurant in Reading

Berkshire-based Siren Craft Brew has revealed plans to open its first town centre venue at Station Hill, Reading. Jessica Mason finds out what visitors can expect.

Speaking to the drinks business, Siren Craft Brew founder Darron Anley said: “The development is a big step for Siren and one we’re hugely excited to take. Having an outlet like this fits our goals of growing sustainably and continuing to introduce bold, exciting beers to new audiences.”

The brewery has signed a 15-year lease for a 3,800 sq ft space on Friars Walk, so the craft taproom and restaurant will open in May 2024, positioned as a destination for beer lovers.

Anley revealed that the site will also feature outdoor seating and host more than 30 lines of beer, including guest options from both local and international contributors.

Describing the journey, Anley told db: “To be able to open a venue like this on our doorstep is a very proud moment, and I think the long term lease shows our intent to build something lasting. While times are undoubtedly hard in hospitality, I still wholeheartedly believe that the community is there for independent brands to bring positivity and deliver great experiences and we will keep working hard to do that.”

The business is already investing in a highly-specced kitchen and building a team to serve up street-food-inspired dishes, creating jobs at all levels of hospitality. Customers will also be invited to get involved in the project through a crowdfunder which will offer pre-paid bar tab opportunities along with other rewards.
