Lamole di Lamole introduces Vinitaly’s first carbon neutral stand
With this year’s Vinitaly commencing on Sunday, Chianti Classico estate Lamole di Lamole, part of Santa Margherita Wine Group, has announced that it will be presenting at a carbon neutral stand, the first in the fair’s history.
The stand, in Hall 9, Stand D2, was developed in collaboration with sustainability activism corporation zeroCO2.
The materials used in this ‘ecodesign’ have been rigorously assessed for their environmental credentials. The wood used has PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) or FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification. The graphics were printed onto fabrics made from recycled plastic bottles using solvent-free inks.

Additionally, the emissions resulting from the transportation of materials and people have been taken into account. Furthermore, any residual impact from the stand during the fair will be scientifically measured, and compensated for by means of a reforestation project in Guatemala, one of the country’s most severely affected by climate change.
Alessandro Marzotto, general manager of Lamole di Lamole, stated: “We are proud to present a zero-impact stand at Vinitaly for the first time. The aim of this project is not only to annul our carbon footprint but to create a new, positive one that generates long-term benefits for people and for the environment. At a local level, Lamole di Lamole has always striven to guarantee maximum respect for its terroir, in the sense of its environmental and social dimension. The climate crisis that we are experiencing today also calls for responses on a global scale; for this reason, it is important to remain faithful to this approach even when we are outside our region.”
