Whisky specialist Milroy’s to open second site

Whisky specialist Milroy’s in London’s Soho district is to open a second site in a townhouse on Commercial Street in Spitalfields, east London, this September.

As reported by Hot Dinners, the new site will occupy four floors of a townhouse in Spitalfields, taking over what used to be Himalayan restaurant Madame D. Milroy’s 2.0 will boast a whisky bar, cocktail bar, tasting room and private members club with a cigar terrace.

In the basement you’ll find cocktail bar The Proofing Room, similar to The Vault in the Soho original, serving classic cocktails and seasonal sips.

Hot Dinnersreports that that ground floor will be home to a bar stocked with 1,000 different whiskies from all over the world, including key whisky producing nations like Scotland, Japan, the US and Australia.

Clued up staff will be on hand to offer tutored tastings and guide novices through the vast offering to help them find their dream dram.

Private members club The Dram House on the first floor will be open to loyal Milroy’s patrons, while a tasting room and cigar terrace on the top floor will serve rare Scotch and Cuban cigars.

Milroy’s opened in Soho in 1964 and relaunched in 2016. It boasts one of the largest and most comprehensive whisky offerings in London.
