Aber Falls Distillery launches Welsh Dry Gin

Four months after the release of its initial collection, Aber Falls Distillery has expanded its portfolio to include a Welsh Dry Gin in a bid to capitalise on the regional gin trend.

Made using water from Rhaeadr Fawr (Aber Falls waterfall) in north Wales, the gin is made in a copper pot still and leads with juniper with prominent notes of “grapefruit, lemon and orange”.

Described as “a bright and fresh liquid with a subtly spicy and sweet finish” the gin is bottled at 41.3% and will retail at £24 per 70cl bottle.

It joins the distillery’s other expressions including Rhubarb & Ginger and Orange Marmalade Gin, and Salted Toffee, Violet and Coffee & Dark Chocolate Liqueurs.

James Wright, managing director at Aber Falls Distillery, commented: “The introduction of this classic liquid marks an important milestone for us, as we extend our range of Gins, styles and flavours, and continue to achieve high-quality and consistent spirits, to satisfy growing demand. It has been an amazing start to 2018 and we’ve received remarkable feedback in the on and off-trade on a local and national level.

“The rise of regional gin has more than doubled in the last six months and we’re proud to be serving the spirit of North Wales to the local area and further afield”.

The distillery will also release its first whisky in 2020 and will unveil a new permanent visitor centre this Autumn.
