Coravin launches Model Two in Harrods green

Coravin has announced the launch of the exclusive Harrods Model Two in the store’s iconic green colour.

The new product includes the same new features as the Model Two, which launched in February and boasts a streamlined design and an updated needle which pours 20% faster than the original Model 8.

Coravin’s revolutionary wine system allows users to pour wine without removing the cork. It works by using groundbreaking technology to keep the cork in place, whilst the accompanying gas capsule inserts inert argon gas into the bottle. The pressure of the argon pushes the wine through the needle, simultaneously preventing any oxygen from entering the bottle.

The Coravin device has become a hit with private consumers and wine professionals alike since it was launched in 2013. Along with the Enomatic wine dispensing machines, it is increasingly seen as being responsible for the growth of by-the-glass offerings in restaurants.

With Harrods having been a dedicated stockist of Coravin since its UK launch in 2013, the company said it was “very fitting” for the retailer to be releasing an exclusive model in its signature colour.

Ed Gerard, Wine and Spirits Buyer at Harrods, commented: “We are delighted to offer the discerning Harrods customer the opportunity to get their hands on the exclusive Model Two in ‘Harrods Green’. We have been dedicated stockists of Coravin since its conception in 2013, and this partnership is a tribute to our ongoing relationship.”

The new Coravin Model Two Harrods Green comes with two complimentary argon gas capsules and is available in-store now priced at £249.

The Coravin Model Two Elite – the more consumer-focused model which can be bought in either red, gold and sliver colours, will still be available at £249.

Having launched in in 2013, Coravin is now marketed in more than 30 countries. The product has more than 500 restaurant and retail partners, including Fera at Claridges, Jason Atherton’s Social Wine and Tapas and The Ivy. The company recently secured more than $14million in development funding in the US.

As reported in the drinks business, in August Coravin launched the Coravin Model One at a lower price of £199. The most competitively priced model yet, Model One was launched expressly to target the millennial market.
