Adie Broswon Breweries and United Breweries sign manufacturing pact
Adie Broswon Breweries (ABB) has signed a long-term manufacturing partnership with United Breweries Limited (UBL), as it seeks to strengthen production capacity in North India.

The agreement will utilise ABB’s brewing facility, which has an annual capacity of 12 million cases and is among the largest in the region.
ABB said that its brewery, which uses German brewing technology supplied by Ziemann, produced more than five million cases during the 2025-26 financial year, marking its highest annual output to date. The site operates using renewable energy-powered systems and holds FSSC 22000 and Quality Management System (QMS) certifications.
The deal comes as beer producers increasingly turn to specialist manufacturing partners to improve regional production, optimise capacity and strengthen supply chains.
ABB said: “As India’s beer market continues to evolve, brewers are increasingly leveraging specialised manufacturing arrangements to optimise regional production networks, improve asset utilisation and strengthen supply resilience.”
It added that large-scale breweries equipped with advanced technology, certified quality systems and operational flexibility are becoming increasingly important in supporting the industry’s growth.
ABB said the agreement reinforces its position as a manufacturing partner for national beer brands and that it will continue investing in production capabilities to meet demand across India’s beverage sector.
A booming beer market
United Breweries, which has been majority owned by Dutch brewer Heineken since 2021, is India’s largest beer producer and produces Kingfisher, the country’s best-selling beer brand.
The partnership comes as India’s beer market continues to record strong growth. Industry sales have risen at near double-digit rates in recent months, helped by favourable weather and regulatory reforms in several states.
Speaking at an industry event, UBL Managing Director and Chief Executive Vivek Gupta said the beer category remained under cost pressure but that the long-term outlook was encouraging.
“The trends in the beer category are positive, driven by good reforms in states like Karnataka and Maharashtra, and also by weather,” he said.
According to the Press Trust of India, United Breweries contributed around Rs 43,000 crore to India’s economy during the 2024-25 financial year. Meanwhile, India’s craft beer market has been forecast to reach US$1 billion by 2027 as consumer demand continues to grow.
