Music, running and beer lovers unite in Ravenna
The Ravenna Music Race Beer Edition, an event based in northern Italy and organised by the Ravenna Runners Club in partnership with Darsenale Brewpub and Birra Bizantina, is due to return for its fifth year.

The five mile non-competitive run, which is held in Ravenna, in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, was originally created to combine amateur sports, live music performances, and local craft beer tastings.
The changing face of Darsena di Città
Taking place on 22 May, the event will once again enliven the Darsena di Città, one of Ravenna’s busiest and liveliest urban spaces which is also currently undergoing a broad sweep of redevelopment within the area.
The event will feature sports, music, and entertainment as well as bring runners and walkers along the Candiano River, a venue that in recent years has become a hub for leisure and nightlife in the city.
The event is due to begin at 7.30pm so that participants can enjoy the sunset over the Darsena and will be sound-tracked by Radio Studio Delta which is due to play music through the evening to participate in the celebrations.
DJ sets
Prior to the run beginning, from 7pm, the Romagna-based station will provide commentary on the race and post-race before hosting a DJ set by Yuri Maru and Elisa Gardini.
According to the organisers, the race is “a fun event designed for everyone” and should include people of all abilities from “athletes, enthusiasts, groups of friends, through to families”.

The race will start and finish in the area in front of the Darsenale Brewpub and continue along the Darsena di Città to Parco di Teodorico, passing through the Moro di Venezia area.
Additional music spots along the way will feature performances from: Maniac Duo, Windstorm, Maiday, Beta Blockers, Best Before, and Tiziano Trobbiani, as well as the sounds of the Boomers.
Plus, along the route, there will also be a station where you can listen to the music of Radio Studio Delta, located within the Parco di Teodorico, in addition to the one at the start and finish areas.
Inside the Music Race Village, set up in the Darsenale Brewpub area, there will also be an Opera Santa Teresa stand, created in collaboration with Io Vedo di Corsa, where participants can donate running or gym shoes that are still in good condition.
Bringing people together
Ravenna Runners Club president Stefano Righini said: “We’re delighted to bring the Ravenna Music Race Beer Edition back to the Darsena this year. It’s an event that combines sport, music, and the joy of being together, engaging people of all ages, from experienced runners to those simply looking for a different kind of evening.”
Righini explained that “this event is part of the path we, as an association, have been pursuing for years, striving to propose events that engage people with a wide range of interests. From the Pink Running, with its important social message tied to the activities of Linea Rosa, to the more competitive Ravenna Marathon, the Music Race Beer Edition, with its more light-hearted and fun spirit, and the Park Race immersed in nature. And let’s not forget that starting in 2027, we’ll also be bringing back the historic Valli e Pinete, an event that combines tradition and nature in one of the most evocative settings in the Ravenna area. These events are different, but they share the same desire to bring running and walking together as moments of socialisation and participation.”
Righini revealed that “registration typically includes an official event T-shirt, access to the musical path, and beer tastings”. Additionally, Righini added that those taking part can expect to be invited to take part in “tastings of local craft beer during the event” which will feature “selections from local favourites like the Darsenale brewpub and Birra Bizantina”.
