Spain’s Corporación Hijos de Rivera has signed a deal for its Estrella Galicia 0,0 to become the title sponsor and official beer of MotoGP, the Grand Prix of Brazil.

Spain’s Corporación Hijos de Rivera has signed a deal for its Estrella Galicia 0,0 to become the title sponsor and official beer of MotoGP, the Grand Prix of Brazil.

The event, which will be held at the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna from the 20-22 March, will be officially named the “Estrella Galicia 0,0 Grand Prix of Brazil”.

As well as in Brazil, Estrella Galicia 0,0 will also become the official beer of MotoGP and title sponsorship for the sport’s return to Brazil in addition to its presence as title sponsor of the Grand Prix of Spain, held in Jerez in May. Brazil is MotoGP’s pitstop in Latin America this season as MotoGP returns to a key market for the first time in over two decades and is seeing initial capacity already having sold out.

A strong link to the market

Corporación Hijos de Rivera executive chairman Ignacio Rivera said: “Our company is strongly linked to a market with a solid brewing tradition and culture, such as Brazil, where we have a long-standing presence thanks to our firm and longstanding commitment to the country through our own subsidiary.”

Riviera explained: “Becoming the main sponsor of the Brazilian Grand Prix represents a milestone in our long history in MotoGP, a competition in which we not only participate as the official beer, but in which we have been fully involved in developing the talent of the riders and teams. Brazil is a key country in our international expansion strategy, and we are happy to contribute value and participate so actively in the return of the World Championship after 20 years, and especially with a local rider like Diogo Moreira, a product of our talent development programme.”

‘An incredible asset’

Carmelo Ezpeleta, chief marketing officer of Dorna noted: “Estrella Galicia 0,0 is the official beer partner of the championship and one of our most committed partners when it comes to both riders and fans – backing incredible talent and putting on a fantastic show. Brazil already sold out its initial capacity and this title sponsorship from Estrella Galicia 0,0 is sure to prove an incredible asset as we return to the country for the first time in more than two decades.”
