Ferrari Trento caps off year of accolades
Ferrari Trento, the Trentodoc producer that is part of Gruppo Lunelli, has won a host of awards in 2025 – not to mention handed out a prestigious prize.

Ferrari Trento has continued a run of successes in 2025 with recent accolades from both critics and competitions. The traditional method sparkling wine producer, which pioneered the category in Trentino, has secured recognition across its portfolio.
In London last month, two of its wines were declared World Champions at the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships in London. The awards, founded by influential critic Tom Stevenson, pit the world’s top sparkling wines against each other.
Ferrari Brut Magnum was declared World Champion Blanc de Blancs, a particularly meaningful win given the cuvée’s flagship status in Ferrari Trento’s range. Since the winery’s founding in 1902, Ferrari Brut has been essential to its production. The Chardonnay expresses Trentino’s mountainous terroir, where altitude and diurnal range contribute complexity to the grapes. This is, in fact, the second time Ferrari Brut has secured the award: it first did so in 2016.
Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore Magnum 2004, meanwhile, took the title in the Library Vintage category. The success vindicates Ferrari Trento’s focus on long ageing for its sparkling wines, with the Archivio di Famiglia project – a scheme to preserve select wines for extended periods – launched this year.
After more than a decade ageing on its lees, Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore Magnum 2004 was disgorged in 2015. In the bottle, however, it has continued to evolve, with the Chardonnay developing richness and aromatic complexity over the further 10 years.

Publications, too, have proven eager to garland Ferrari Trento this year. Le Guide de l’Espresso – Italy’s famed restaurant and wine guides – named Giulio Ferrari Rosé Italy’s best sparkling wine. The Chardonnay-Pinot Noir blend again proves Ferrari Trento’s commitment to mature wines: it spends 10 years ageing on its lees. Adding to its accolades, Ferrari Trento has also been named Producer of the Year by The Champagne & Sparkling Wine for the eigth time.

To round off the clutch of gongs, Wine Enthusiast placed Ferrari 2015 Lunelli Riserva Extra Brut Chardonnay in first place on its 2025 Top 100 Cellar Selections. Praising its cozy and fresh profile, the publication’s judges forecast it would do “magic” in the cellar.
Recognising excellence in hospitality
Not content to receive recognition, Ferrari Trento has also been handing out awards. Last month, it partnered with The World’s 50 Best Hotels event as its official sparkling wine partner.
The Ferrari Trento Most Admired Hotel Group of the Year award, recognising outstanding service and a distinctive identity across a portfolio, was this year awarded to Four Season Hotels and Resorts. The winner was praised for its “ingenuity and adventurous spirit” after being chosen by a panel of more than 600 hospitality experts from around the world.
Hospitality has long been a theme at Ferrari Trento. It welcomes guests to its winery, Villa Margon, which has been immaculately restored as part of its social sustainability programme. It also runs the Michelin-starred restaurant Locanda Margon.

Matteo Lunelli, president and CEO of Ferrari Trento, attended the ceremony in Old Billingsgate, London in person. There, he presented the award to Alejandro Reynal, president and CEO of Four Seasons.
Lunelli comments: “At Ferrari Trento, we believe in the power of people and places to create genuine emotions – a toast, a welcoming gesture, a thoughtful detail. Being part of this celebration means paying tribute to those who, every day, transform travel into an unforgettable experience.”
