Not only did September mark a change of season, but it also brought with it a whole host of events and campaigns – from Bourbon training in Tokyo to Hungarian masterclasses in Beijing – for our friends and colleagues in Asia. We take a look at what they’ve been up to.
Chilean Pisco in Xi’an

Nimbility spirits director Manuel Arce hosted a masterclass of Chilean piscos from producer Capel at Whisky Xi’an in Mainland China. Piscos from the Capel Moai and Alto del Carmen ranges were on show at the event.
Brothers Bond in Tokyo

Bourbon brand Brother’s Bond was in the Japanese capital this September for training at 1 Hotel Tokyo. CEO and co-founder Vincent Hanna was there to represent the brand. Hanna launched the Bourbon with actors Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder, former co-stars of TV series The Vampire Diaries.
Trinity Hill in Taipei

Wines from Trinity Hill, a New Zealand producer based in Hawke’s Bay, were on pour in the Taiwanese capital in September. Ian Ford, CEO of Nimbility, the brand building agency which works with Trinity Hill in Asia, hosted the masterclass in Taipei, organised by Enoteca Taiwan.

Wines of Hungary heads to Beijing

Nichole Mao, partner at brand building agency Nimbility, hosted a masterclass on Hungarian wine in Beijing. The session was part of trade body Wines of Hungary’s partnership with 10 WSET-approved programme providers across China. Mao has been traveling throughout China to present all things Hungarian wine to students studying with the partner programme providers as part of Nimbility’s second year campaign in Mainland China to support Wines of Hungary’s visibility in Asia.
Schug Winery in Seoul

A selection of wines from Schug Winery, a California producer nestled amid the rolling hills of Sonoma Valley, was on offer at the California Wine Institute in Seoul, South Korea in September. Sarah Soo-Kyung Henriet, head of Korea for Nimbility, and Ian Ford, CEO, partner and co-founder, represented Schug at the event.
Wirra Wirra in Malaysia

Wirra Wirra, one of McLaren Vale’s most iconic wineries, brought the trade together for AsiaEuro in Malaysia for a training session on the Australian producer’s wines. Stephen Jones, Wirra Wirra export director, joined over video call while Pratham Wahi, Nimbility export director, attended the event in person.
