Vinexpo India cancelled

Vinexposium has cancelled the 2025 edition of Vinexpo India, scheduled to take place in Mumbai on 3-4 October, after “careful consideration”.

Vinexpo India cancelled

Vinexposium announced in a statement on the Vinexpo India website that the 2025 show, which as initially scheduled to take place at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai this week, “will not be held”.

The statement said the decision had been reached “after careful consideration of the situation” following consultation with Vinexposium’s local partners. It said the decision “was not an easy one”.

“Despite the keen interest expressed by many industry players, the conditions were simply not right to deliver an event that would meet the high expectations of our exhibitors and visitors,” the statement read.

Vinexposium first launched Vinexpo India in 2021. CEO Rodolphe Lameyse told db at the time that his ambition was to grow the company’s presence in a market he considers “the next big thing”.

Now, the company has said it will focus energy on upcoming flagship exhibitions including Wine Paris, Vinexpo Asia, Vinexpo Americas and the World Bulk Wine Exhibition, as well as “promising new initiatives in preparation”.

The statement continued: “Our priority remains to create events that genuinely support business development and foster meaningful connections across the global wine and spirits industry.”

Vinexpo Mumbai 2024 hosted 5,304 visitors, with more than 80 producers exhibiting at the fair.

Vinexposium co-organised the fair with local partner InterAds Exhibitors. This year’s edition was also set to include the India Wines and Spirits Award (IWSA), presented by the Sonal Holland Academy.

db has reached out to Vinexposium for comment.
