Fells boosts no and low offering with Copenhagen Sparkling Tea deal

Copenhagen Sparkling Tea will be available through Fells from from mid-June 2024.

The distributor announced the latest addition to its portfolio this morning, calling it in a press release an “important move by the company in recognition of the growing importance of the no and low alcohol sectors”.

Euan Mackay, who became managing director of Fells in September 2023, taking over from Steve Moody, said in a statement that the sparkling tea was the “perfect fit for our portfolio”. He said: “Although it is made with tea rather than grapes, it shares many of the characteristics of fine wine”.

The distributor, which was first established in 1858, currently has three Familia Torres alcohol-free wines in its portfolio. Its website also offers ‘lighter’ wines with an ABV of 10.5% or under.

Copenhagen Sparkling Tea was founded by sommelier Jacob Kocemba. Its range includes products with an ABV between 0% and 5%.

The brand is currently sold in over 50 countries and served at more than 100 Michelin restaurants worldwide. Copenhagen Sparkling Tea plans to expand its global reach through its partnership with Fells.

Last year, Fells made its first venture into English wine when it added Wiston Estate to its portfolio. The winery produces a number of vintage and non-vintage English sparkling wines as well as a 2020 still Pinot Noir, for which the grapes used were crushed by foot. Read more on that story here.
