Don’t miss out on the Global Cabernet Franc Masters

The Global Wine Masters is thrilled to announce its inaugural Cabernet Franc-led competition in 2024, identifying the best expressions of this versatile grape variety. Sign up before the 22 December for the chance of winning a medal.

Cabernet Franc has long been considered supporting cast in blends with star varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon. But without Cabernet Franc, the world of wine would not be the same: it is a parent to many grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Carménère.

With the first edition of the Global Cabernet Franc Masters in 2024, we intend to give the grape variety the recognition it deserves.

The versatility and elegance of Cabernet Franc led to its incredible success, whether it is as a key variety in Bordeaux blends, as juicy or fuller bodied varietals in the Loire Valley, or in intense expressions in the Napa Valley and Argentina.

Our Global Cabernet Franc Masters competition focuses on identifying the best expressions of the variety across the world, in every style and price range. It is open to any varietal Cabernet Franc, or blends containing at least 50% Cabernet Franc. Every wine will be measured on the taste of its grape and the skill of its winemaker, and results will be published in the drinks business magazine
and online.
