Amcor offers large bottle closures solution for Maison Saint Aix

Amcor Capsules has worked with Maison Saint Aix on tin closures, creating a solution for its six litre large-format bottles.

The move has seen Amcor work with the winemaker following previous collaboration from 2015, when the firms first teamed up on development and when it began supplying the winery with Stelvin Lux screw caps for their 75cl bottles.

Located in the hillsides of the Coteaux d’Aix-en Provence appellation, Maison Saint Aix only produces one product, Aix rosé, which is available in a large range of bottle sizes, from the classic 75cl to the massive 15l format, making it a great choice for many different occasions, it said.

In order to elegantly package the larger six litre bottles for pouring at weddings or grand ceremonies “can be a real challenge”, it said, so the firm worked with Amcor on a solution.

While several solutions for capping such bottles are available in the spirits industry, they are “less prevalent in the wine sector”, the company said.

As a result, Amcor’s FTS (Field Technical Services) and sales teams worked alongside the Provençal winemaker to develop the innovations this new tin closure required.

Victor Verhoef, marketing director at Maison Saint Aix, said: “Amcor was our first choice for its quality and innovation.

“Amcor never stopped listening to us and provided  unwavering support throughout the entire process.  After a nine-month search, we believe we have found  perfection—an ideal closure that perfectly fits the necks of these bottles. It also has a luxurious finish and a flawless print result that matches the design of our entire range.

“This 600cl bottle is now the perfect partner for our other formats and has found its rightful place.”
