Harry and Howard Kinder, the father and son duo behind Malton Brewery, appeared on Channel 4’s Aldi’s Next Big Things with their unusual brew.

The beer is made using actual Yorkshire puddings – there’s half of one in each brew – and was praised by judges on the Channel 4 show for its creamy texture.

Howard Kinder said of Malton Brewery’s triumph on Aldi’s Next Big Things, “we were absolutely elated – and really happy that we got to share the victory with Harry Specters.

“For me, I’m not just happy that we’ve won, but that I get to continue working with my son”.

Now named Aldi’s Next Big Thing Yorkshire Pudding Beer, the brew is available to purchase at the discount retailer’s stores for £1.49 per 500ml bottle. The beer clocks in at 3.6% ABV and is vegetarian.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said it was impossible to choose between the two eventual winners of the show (the other being Harry Specters Chocolate Bars).

“Choosing between beer and chocolate was just too tough.

“The love and innovation that has gone into their products is just outstanding. They are both fantastic products and it just felt right to make both winners.

“Moments like this just really make me love my job. You could see how much it meant to both of them. And I’m confident our shoppers are going to enjoy these fantastic treats.”
