Fans have been sharing videos of King Charles as he ascends to the throne, paying tribute to his lighthearted sense of humour, and one particular clip has really captured the public’s imagination.

The video in question was first posted back in July, when a particularly excited fan shouted to the then-Prince from through the crowd “Charles, do you want to go for a beer?”

After a brief moment of confusion which lead to the fan repeating his question, King Charles quipped “where?” To the delight of the surrounding public.

“You’ll have to recommend somewhere”, he continued, amid pales of laughter.

And TikTok commenters were delighted by the clip.

“Fortunate enough to have met him twice and in private he’s so down to earth and funny”, one person wrote, while a second added, “Always nice to see them talking to the public”.

“Love it, shows he has a good sense of humour”, a third commenter wrote.

Last year, King Charles (then Prince Charles) issued a message of support to the hospitality sector, hailing their “invaluable service”, something he said had been brought into even sharper relief during the coronavirus pandemic.

The message, which you can view in full here, was given as part of the Master Innholders’ ‘Hoteliers – Battered But Not Beaten’ event.
