You can get pints for 6p today using this secret code word

Pub chain and brewer Greene King is offering patrons a truly royal price on pints today, charging just 6p at 408 locations. Here’s the secret code word you need to take advantage of the offer.

6p pints

The 6p pint may sound like a pipe dream of yesteryear, but that’s sort of the point. Greene King is offering pints of its IPA for the princely sum in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, as 6p was the average price of a pint when Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne in 1952.

So to the important bit, what do you need to do to take advantage of the outrageously cheap offer?

Well, simply visit one of the 408 participating Greene King pub or Flaming Grill sites, and use the secret codeword, ‘1952’.

“The platinum jubilee is a fantastic way for the UK to come together and celebrate our Queen and country, so we wanted to take our customers back to where it all began – 1952, a time when Vera Lynn ruled the charts and pints were only 6p,” said Andrew Gallagher, marketing director at Greene King Local Pubs.

“We can’t wait to see our customers enjoy this royally good deal on Monday 30 May, and look forward to celebrating the platinum jubilee in all our pubs across the bank holiday weekend.”
