Wetherspoons bartender reveals the things customers ‘always do’ when flirting

A bartender at a Wetherspoons pub has revealed that customers “all do the same things” when they’re flirting with their server, in a post that has gone viral on social media.

The 21-year-old bartender frequently shares his experiences of working at the popular pub chain on TikTok, and recently revealed the things customers always do when they’re flirting with bar staff.

“Generally when it comes to flirting I’m completely clueless.” He said. “But when I’m at work, it’s a lot easier to notice.

“After working there for a while you start to see that people all do the same things as they’re flirting.” He went on to reveal the telltale signs he’s noticed that generally mean a customer is flirting.

“They hang out at the bit of the bar that you’re serving at. Just staying right there.” He said. “They refuse to be served by anyone else.

“They watch you working even when they think you can’t see them watching you.

“And then they try to have conversations with you when you’re far too busy to be talking.

“They use the same basic pick up lines as well, like ‘Oh, wow, doesn’t it suck to be working stead of going out tonight, right?’

“Or, my personal favourite which is, ‘Wow, you have really nice eyelashes.’

“But there will be more on that later.

“Basically just a general PSA that bartenders can often tell if they’re being hit on.

“So you may think you’re being subtle but trust me, you’re not – we know.”

Recently, another TikTok video made waves online, showing a woman placing kisses on the shirts of oblivious male party-goers, leaving a clear lipstick stain on their clothing. Many were critical of the woman’s actions, pointing out that they may well cause unnecessary arguments between couples.
