Platinum Jubilee Champagne glasses sell out in seconds
A specially-commissioned set of Champagne glasses to celebrate this year’s Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth has already sold out.
The glasses, which come as a pair for £120, are already out of stock, with the sets selling out the same day they were promoted to potential buyers.
Sold through the website of the Royal Collection shop, the limited edition sets were promoted to the Royal Collection Trust’s subscribers on Friday, and sold out almost immediately, according to The Telegraph.
The glasses, which are saucer shaped, feature the EIIR cipher to celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, and were made as a limited edition run of just 70 sets – one for each year the Queen has spent on the throne.
Also a sell-out is a £19 crystal tot glass featuring the Platinum Jubilee crest, as well as a limited edition tankard costing £40.
Among the non-drink related items commissioned to mark the milestone occasion, is a £125 pillbox clock and £45 pillbox, both of which have sold out.
So too have the teacups, mugs, umbrellas, bags, tea towels and biscuit tubes, with the few remaining commemorative items still available for sale including a Christmas bauble and milk chocolate bar.
According to The Telegraph, it’s not unexpected for limited edition Royal products to sell-out, but the Platinum Jubilee goods have proved particularly popular.
